Not only women?s MMA, but the sport in general was dealt a saddening blow Sunday, as the highly inspirational ?Mighty? Mia Hayes lost a long battle with breast cancer; she was 35 years old.<BR><BR>
Hayes, a mother of four, was diagnosed in 2008, with a future living prognosis of just 1-5 years.<BR><BR>
While not training in Tae Kwon Do, and mixed martial arts (she held an amateur record of 3-0), Hayes ran a day care. She is survived by her children and her husband, Youssouf Camara. Camara (who previously quit his job in order to care for Mia and their children) and family are dealing with a tough situation, and we offer our sincerest condolences.<BR><BR>
A fund has been arranged in order to help the family with expenses.
